I,M FINE THANK YOU.

There,s nothing the matter with me,
I,m as healthy as can be.
I have arthiritis in both my knees
And when I talk I talk with a wheeze;
My pulse is weak,my blood is thin,
But I,m awfully well, for the shape I,m in.

Arch supports I have for both my feet,
or I wouldn,t be able to be on the streets,
Sleep is denied me night after night
But every morning I feel I,m alright.
My memory is failing,my heads in a spin,
But I,m awfully well for the shape I,m in.

The moral is this,as my tale I unfold,
That for you and me who are old,
It,s better to say"I,m fine" with a grin,
Than let folks know the shape we are in.

How do i know that my youth Is all spent
Well my " get up and go" has got up and went!
But I dont realy mind when i think with a grin,
of all the grand places my "get up " has bin.

It's better to say "I'm fine" with a grin then let folks know the shape were in. I echo that.

I'm tired of reading about people's woes. I'm tired of trying to sympathize. Because I'm tired of writing about my own woes and not getting any sympathy when I do.

So it's better to drop the subject of one's health and get on with life, I think. DB

That's cute. Instead of asking people how they are I ask "how's your nose?" That way I don't have to hear all the tales of woe. Because I have enough of my own. LOL !!! Linda in soggy Washington state

Very touching poem. Both Linda and I have mothers in their 90, so it was very meaningful to us.

Growing old is not for the weak.
